CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES
Construction Technique: Our Raised Panel and Plank Panel doors are built with traditional Frame and Panel construction, utilizing stub tenons and dowels at all joints. All stiles and rails are dowelled and glued with water resistant Titebond 2 glue which is rated for both Exterior and Interior use.
This age old construction method allows every panel in the door to expand and
contract with seasonal variations in temperature and humidity without splitting
or warping. All Raised Panel doors have panels that are the full thickness of
the door unless otherwise specified. Some custom designs also are constructed
with 1-1/2" deep full mortice and tenon jointery with pegs where necessary.
Exterior vs. Interior Doors: All Spanish Pueblo Door designs with raised panels or 1-1/2" thick plank panels may be used for both Exterior or Interior applications. It is not uncommon for any of our numerous designs to be used on both the Exterior and Interior of a given project.
