CRUCITAS

Crucitas, or "small crosses" were traditional design elements in antique New Mexican trasteros. They were typically open crosses to allow ventilation into these functional cupboards. You may choose either open or privacy (closed) crucitas on you door. Open crucitas are ideal for ventilation such as on closets and also have the added benefit of creating a beautiful light effect when backlit. Privacy crucitas are ideal for passage doors into privacy applications such as bedroom or bath passageway doors. Exterior Doors with crucitas have either a privacy plywood insert or may be constructed with 1⁄4" safety glass which is built into the crucitas during assembly of the door.
