PLANK AND FLAT PANEL DOORS:
Plank and Flat Panel Designs may be specified for either Interior or
Exterior application. The difference in construction between Interior
and Exterior Doors is the thickness of the Plank or Flat Panels panels.
Plank and Flat Panel Interior Doors: Our Plank and Flat Panel Interior
door designs are constructed with 1-3/4” stiles and rails and
with recessed 3⁄4” thick tongue and groove Plank Panels
or 3⁄4” Flat Panels. These doors are intended solely for
Interior use due to the 3⁄4” thick panel. Interior doors
with 3⁄4” thick panels that are used in an Exterior application
are not covered by warranty.
Interior Doors: 1-3/4” vs. 1-3/8” thickness:
All of our doors are priced at 1-3/4” thickness unless specified
otherwise. Most of our designs may be built in 1-3/8” thickness,
(for example, when used as pocket doors or bi-fold units) however,
there is no cost savings for the 1-3/8” thick doors. Our Interior
doors are typically designed at 1-3/4” thickness for the added
stability inherent in using thicker materials.

Plank Panel Exterior Doors: For Exterior applications our Plank Panel designs
may be selected with tongue and groove plank panels that are either slightly
recessed or the full thickness of the door.
Exterior Plank Panel Doors with Recessed Planks The recessed panels are 1-1/2” thick
for 1-3/4” doors or 1-3/4” thick for 2-1/4” thick doors.
Flat Panel Exterior Doors: For Exterior applications for designs that feature
a flat panel are typically constructed with a simple square edged raised panel
showing a minimal 1⁄4” reveal.

Exterior Plank Panel Doors with Full Thick Planks: feature
tongue and groove planks that are the full thickness of the stiles and rails
typically 1-3/4” or
2-1/4” thickness. The full thick plank provides the esthetic of traditional
Plank Style doors with the stability of Stile and Rail construction methods.
