ROUGH OPENINGS

Rough Openings: It is highly recommended that the rough opening dimensions for all prehung units be confirmed. Although our doors generally do fit into standard rough openings, there can be a wide variance in how rough openings are sized at the job site. In particular, with Arch Top Units and Custom Entry Units it is required that the rough opening be confirmed or we will provide required RO’s if necessary.

Typical Rough Opening requirements are as follows.

Square Top Interior Single: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2” height.
Flat arch Top Interior Sgl: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2-1/2” height
Full Arch top Interior Sgl: Door Size Plus 3” width and 2-1/2” height
Square Top Interior Pair: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2” height
Flat arch Top Interior Pair: Door size plus 3” width and 2-1/2” height
Full Arch top Interior Pair: Door Size Plus 3” width and 2-1/2” height

Square Top Exterior Single: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2” height.
Flat arch Top Exterior Sgl: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2-1/2” height
Full Arch top Exterior Sgl: Door Size Plus 3” width and 2-1/2” height
Square Top Exterior Pair: Door size plus 2-1/2” width and 2-1/2” height
Flat arch Top Exterior Pair: Door size plus 3” width and 3” height
Full Arch top Exterior Pair: Door Size Plus 3” width and 3” height

For Custom Entry Door and Sidelite Units; Square or Arch Top - Our sales staff will assist you in confirming the Rough Opening requirements for your door specifications or you may give us your existing Rough Opening and we will build the Custom Unit to your RO dimensions.
